Continuing to work with patterning and references to topography and architecture, John Houck’s wallpaper is inspired by the Southern California landscape and the flora found there. His wallpaper, borrowing from his photographic practice, is composed of images of succulents in hues of green and yellow floating in a light pink field evocative of the Palm Springs desert floor. John Houck lives and works in Los Angeles and teaches at UCLA. He obtained his BFA from University of Colorado Boulder and  his MFA from UCLA; he also  attended the Whitney Independent Study Program in 2010. He is represented by On Stellar Rays in New York.

LA><ART’s wallpaper editions are made possible by the generous support of Rebecca Bloom and David Kurtz.
