Dear LA><ART Members & Supporters,

It is with great pleasure that we reach out to you to support LA><ART in this critical stage of growth in the life of the organization.
Founded in 2005, LA><ART now enters its eighth year as the leading independent, nonprofit contemporary art space in Los Angeles and is gearing up for its 10 year anniversary.
In the past year, LA><ART participated in collaborations including the distinctive Pacific Standard Time Performance and Public Art Festival with the Getty Research Institute and the first Los Angeles biennial,  Made In L.A. 2012, organized by the Hammer Museum in conjunction with LA><ART, featuring sixty local artists. Recent LA><ART programming has included an acclaimed exhibition of new paintings by Mary Weatherford, a new site-specific façade by Sanya Kantarovsky, as well as the video work and performances by Tejpal Ajji. Special projects include the Los Angeles Pavilion in the Shanghai Biennial featuring new work by Walead Beshty.
In 2013, we will launch our Vision Campaign to ensure organizational growth over the next three years. LA><ART will produce a series of new artist books, public art initiatives throughout LA that include newly commissioned public sculptures with Anna Sew Hoy and Sam Falls, and solo exhibitions with Meg Cranston, Alex Israel, Jedediah Caesar, Steffani Jemison, Isabelle Cornaro and Dashiell Manley.  Our commitment to engaging dialogue will be amplified by a series of original discursive programs that provide diverse opportunities for artists to speak directly with their publics.  We will also aim to establish a new curatorial residency program to formalize LA><ART’s role in the field as a creative incubator for emerging curators.
With your support, LA><ART will also launch a major initiative entitled The Occasional - a new international platform for Los Angeles inclusive of the commissioning of new major works in experimental sites throughout the city in 2015 and will announce a curatorial team in the new year.
Through our Vision Campaign we will establish these goals with the milestone of our ten-year anniversary in mind. Now and in 2015, LA><ART wishes to turn our funders’ stalwart support into new programming that represents our commitment to supporting curatorial and artistic freedom, as well as remodeling the notion of what a nonprofit contemporary art space can be. Pushing the boundaries of art together we can continue to reinvent a dynamic and sustainable space for the next generation of artists and curators in Los Angeles, the US and beyond.
We ask you to join us in the march towards the ten-year anniversary by supporting the next year of ambitious programming. Supporting this important period of growth at LA><ART is possible with a tax-deductible gift to this charitable, 501c3 organization. Every ounce of support will have a direct impact on the collaborations between artists and curators. Support of LA><ART means influencing the dialogue behind the risks artists take and helping to continue the fundamental work for which we were founded nearly a decade ago.
Thank you and best wishes for 2013!
