Along with the exhibition, Fletcher has also organized several public events related to the Vietnam War–a film screening of Hearts and Minds, a series of talks by local people who had personal experience with Vietnam, and a group discussion about The Vietnam War and war in general. For the exhibition at LA><ART, there will be a special ‘Come Together’ event on January 20, 2007 from noon – 5 pm.

This informal symposium will begin to address some of the issues around performance today: its venues and contexts, its relationship to traditional disciplines, its value, meaning, and strategic purposes. A range of performers as well as curators and scholars will bring a variety of methods and experiences to the table, helping to shape the future of this conversation. Participants include Eleanor Antin, Lia Gangitano, Coco Fusco, Andrea Fraser, Martiniano Lopez Crozet, Ann Magnuson, José Muñoz, Mario Ybarra Jr. and Ron Athey, featuring a performance by Scoli Acosta.
